Itinerary
Sydney, New South Wales
Day 1 - 15/03/26 | 7:00am - 6:00pm

Sydney belongs to the exclusive club of cities that generate excitement. At the end of a marathon flight there's renewed vitality in the cabin as the plane circles the city, where thousands of yachts are suspended on the dark water and the sails of the Opera House glisten in the distance. Blessed with dazzling beaches and a sunny climate, Sydney is among the most beautiful cities on the planet. With 4.6 million people, Sydney is the biggest and most cosmopolitan city in Australia. A wave of immigration from the 1950s has seen the Anglo-Irish immigrants who made up the city's original population joined by Italians, Greeks, Turks, Lebanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thais, and Indonesians. This intermingling has created a cultural vibrancy and energy—and a culinary repertoire—that was missing only a generation ago.Sydneysiders embrace their harbor with a passion. Indented with numerous bays and beaches, Sydney Harbour is the presiding icon for the city, and urban Australia. Captain Arthur Phillip, commander of the 11-ship First Fleet, wrote in his diary when he first set eyes on the harbor on January 26, 1788: "We had the satisfaction of finding the finest harbor in the world."Although a visit to Sydney is an essential part of an Australian experience, the city is no more representative of Australia than Los Angeles is of the United States. Sydney has joined the ranks of the great cities whose characters are essentially international. What Sydney offers is style, sophistication, and great looks—an exhilarating prelude to the continent at its back door.

Melbourne, Victoria
Day 2 - 17/03/26 | 7:00am -

Consistently rated among the "world's most livable cities" in quality-of-life surveys, Melbourne is built on a coastal plain at the top of the giant horseshoe of Port Phillip Bay. The city center is an orderly grid of streets where the state parliament, banks, multinational corporations, and splendid Victorian buildings that sprang up in the wake of the gold rush now stand. This is Melbourne's heart, which you can explore at a leisurely pace in a couple of days.In Southbank, one of the newer precincts south of the city center, the Southgate development of bars, restaurants, and shops has refocused Melbourne's vision on the Yarra River. Once a blighted stretch of factories and run-down warehouses, the southern bank of the river is now a vibrant, exciting part of the city, and the river itself is finally taking its rightful place in Melbourne's psyche.Just a hop away, Federation Square—with its host of galleries—has become a civic landmark for Melburnians. Stroll along the Esplanade in the suburb of St. Kilda, amble past the elegant houses of East Melbourne, enjoy the shops and cafés in Fitzroy or Carlton, rub shoulders with locals at the Victoria Market, nip into the Windsor for afternoon tea, or rent a canoe at Studley Park to paddle along one of the prettiest stretches of the Yarra—and you may discover Melbourne's soul as well as its heart.

Burnie, Tasmania
Day 4 - 19/03/26 | 7:00am - 3:00pm

Burnie overlooks Emu Bay, on the north-west coast. This proudly industrial city is Australia’s fifth largest container port and a vibrant place to visit. Burnie was once surrounded by dense rainforest, but this has slowly disappeared, while fortunes were made felling and milling timber. The paper and pulp mill on the city’s outskirts operated from 1938 to 1998. Burnie was first explored by Bass and Flinders and was known as Emu Bay when it was settled by the Van Diemen’s Land Company in 1827. Today, Burnie has a population of almost 19,000. Burnie experiences temperate conditions, with an average maximum of 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius) in January and 56.5 degrees Fahrenheit (13.5) degrees Celsius in June.

Hobart, Tasmania
Day 5 - 20/03/26 | 11:00am - 8:00pm

Straddling the Derwent River at the foot of Mt. Wellington's forested slopes, Hobart was founded as a penal settlement in 1803. It's the second-oldest city in the country after Sydney, and it certainly rivals its mainland counterpart as Australia's most beautiful state capital. Close-set colonial brick-and-sandstone shops and homes line the narrow, quiet streets, creating a genteel setting for this historic city of 215,000. Life revolves around the broad Derwent River port, one of the deepest harbors in the world. Here warehouses that once stored Hobart's major exports of fruit, wool, and corn and products from the city's former whaling fleet still stand alongside the wharf today.Hobart sparkles between Christmas and New Year's—summer Down Under—during the annual Sydney-to-Hobart yacht race. The event dominates conversations among Hobart's citizens, who descend on Constitution Dock to welcome the yachts and join in the boisterous festivities of the crews. The New Year also coincides with the Tastes of Tasmania Festival, when the dockside area comes alive with the best of Tasmanian food and wine on offer in numerous cafés, bars, and waterfront stalls. Otherwise, Hobart is a placid city whose nightlife is largely confined to excellent restaurants, jazz clubs, and the action at the Wrest Point Casino in Sandy Bay.The Hobart Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre hours are weekdays 8:30–5:30 and Saturday 9–5.

Sailing Milford Sound
Day 6 - 23/03/26 | 12:00am -
Dunedin
Day 7 - 24/03/26 | 8:00am - 6:00pm

Clinging to the walls of the natural amphitheater at the west end of Otago Harbour, the South Island's second-largest city is enriched with inspiring nearby seascapes and wildlife. Because Dunedin is a university town, floods of students give the city a vitality far greater than its population of 122,000 might suggest. Its manageable size makes it easy to explore on foot—with the possible exception of Baldwin Street, the world's steepest residential street and home to the annual "gutbuster" race, in which people run up it, and the "Jaffa" race, in which people roll the namesake spherical chocolate candy down it.Dunedin, the Gaelic name for Edinburgh, was founded in 1848 by settlers of the Free Church of Scotland, a breakaway group from the Presbyterian Church. The city's Scottish roots are still visible; you'll find New Zealand's first and only (legal) whisky distillery, a statue of Scottish poet Robert Burns, and more kilts, sporrans, and gillies than you can shake a stick at! The Scottish settlers and local Māori came together in relative peace, but this wasn't true of the European whalers who were here three decades before, as places with names such as Murdering Beach illustrate.Dunedin has always had a reputation for the eccentric. Wearing no shoes and a big beard here marks a man as bohemian rather than destitute, and the residents wouldn't have it any other way. The University of Otago was the country's first university and has been drawing writers ever since its founding in 1871, most notably Janet Frame and the poet James K. Baxter. Dunedin also has a musical heritage, which blossomed into the "Dunedin Sound" of the 1970s and '80s.

Lyttelton
Day 8 - 25/03/26 | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Your initial impression of Christchurch will likely be one of a genteel, green city. Joggers loop through shady Hagley Park, and punters ply the narrow Avon River, which bubbles between banks lined with willows and oaks. With a population approaching 350,000, Christchurch is the largest South Island city, and the second-largest in the country. It is also the forward supply depot for the main U.S. Antarctic base at McMurdo Sound. The face of Christchurch is changing rapidly, fueled by both internal and international immigration. The Māori community, although still below the national average in size, is growing. Ngai Tahu, the main South Island Māori tribe, settled Treaty of Waitangi claims in 1997 and have been investing in tourism ventures. Old wooden bungalows are making way for town houses, the arts scene is flourishing, and the city's university attracts cutting-edge technology companies. In short, there's plenty of fresh energy percolating underneath the English veneer.

Wellington
Day 9 - 26/03/26 | 7:00am - 7:00pm

New Zealand's capital is, arguably, the country's most cosmopolitan metropolis. It's world-class Te Papa Tongarewa-Museum of New Zealand is a don't-miss attraction, and the burgeoning film industry led, of course, by the Lord of the Rings extravaganzas has injected new life into the local arts scene. Attractive and compact enough to be explored easily on foot, Wellington is a booming destination. Modern high-rise buildings gaze over Port Nicholson, surely one of the finest natural anchorages in the world. Known to local Māori as The Great Harbor of Tara, its two massive arms form the jaws of the fish of Maui from Māori legend. Sometimes referred to as the windy city, Wellington has been the seat of New Zealand's government since 1865.

Picton
Day 10 - 27/03/26 | 7:00am - 3:00pm

The maritime township of Picton (population 4,000) lies at the head of Queen Charlotte Sound and is the arrival point for ferries from the North Island, as well as a growing number of international cruise ships. It plays a major role in providing services and transport by water taxi to a multitude of remote communities in the vast area of islands, peninsulas, and waterways that make up the Marlborough Sounds Maritime Park. There's plenty to do in town, with crafts markets in summer, historical sights to see, and walking tracks to scenic lookouts over the sounds. The main foreshore is lined by London Quay, which looks up Queen Charlotte Sound to the bays beyond. High Street runs down to London Quay from the hills, and between them these two streets make up the center of town.

Napier
Day 11 - 28/03/26 | 9:00am - 3:00pm

The earthquake that struck Napier at 10:46 am on February 3, 1931, was—at 7.8 on the Richter scale—the largest quake ever recorded in New Zealand. The coastline was wrenched upward several feet. Almost all the town's brick buildings collapsed; many people were killed on the footpaths as they rushed outside. The quake triggered fires throughout town, and with water mains shattered, little could be done to stop the blazes that devoured the remaining wooden structures. Only a few buildings survived (the Public Service Building with its neoclassical pillars is one), and the death toll was well over 100.The surviving townspeople set up tents and cookhouses in Nelson Park, and then tackled the city's reconstruction at a remarkable pace. In the rush to rebuild, Napier went mad for art deco, the bold, geometric style that had burst on the global design scene in 1925. Now a walk through the art deco district, concentrated between Emerson, Herschell, Dalton, and Browning streets, is a stylistic immersion. The decorative elements are often above the ground floors, so keep your eyes up.

Tauranga
Day 12 - 29/03/26 | 10:00am - 5:00pm

The population center of the Bay of Plenty, Tauranga is one of New Zealand's fastest-growing cities. Along with its neighbor, Whakatane, this seaside city claims to be one of the country's sunniest towns. Unlike most local towns, Tauranga doesn't grind to a halt in the off-season, because it has one of the busiest ports in the country, and the excellent waves at the neighboring beach resort of Mount Maunganui—just across Tauranga's harbor bridge—always draw surfers and holiday folk.

Auckland
Day 13 - 30/03/26 | 7:00am - 8:00pm

Auckland is called the City of Sails, and visitors flying in will see why. On the East Coast is the Waitemata Harbour—a Māori word meaning sparkling waters—which is bordered by the Hauraki Gulf, an aquatic playground peppered with small islands where many Aucklanders can be found "mucking around in boats."Not surprisingly, Auckland has some 70,000 boats. About one in four households in Auckland has a seacraft of some kind, and there are 102 beaches within an hour's drive; during the week many are quite empty. Even the airport is by the water; it borders the Manukau Harbour, which also takes its name from the Māori language and means solitary bird.According to Māori tradition, the Auckland isthmus was originally peopled by a race of giants and fairy folk. When Europeans arrived in the early 19th century, however, the Ngāti-Whātua tribe was firmly in control of the region. The British began negotiations with the Ngāti-Whātua in 1840 to purchase the isthmus and establish the colony's first capital. In September of that year the British flag was hoisted to mark the township's foundation, and Auckland remained the capital until 1865, when the seat of government was moved to Wellington. Aucklanders expected to suffer from the shift; it hurt their pride but not their pockets. As the terminal for the South Sea shipping routes, Auckland was already an established commercial center. Since then the urban sprawl has made this city of approximately 1.3 million people one of the world's largest geographically.A couple of days in the city will reveal just how developed and sophisticated Auckland is—the Mercer City Survey 2012 saw it ranked as the third-highest city for quality of life—though those seeking a New York in the South Pacific will be disappointed. Auckland is more get-up and go-outside than get-dressed-up and go-out. That said, most shops are open daily, central bars and a few nightclubs buzz well into the wee hours, especially Thursday through Saturday, and a mix of Māori, Pacific people, Asians, and Europeans contributes to the cultural milieu. Auckland has the world's largest single population of Pacific Islanders living outside their home countries, though many of them live outside the central parts of the city and in Manukau to the south. The Samoan language is the second most spoken in New Zealand. Most Pacific people came to New Zealand seeking a better life. When the plentiful, low-skilled work that attracted them dried up, the dream soured, and the population has suffered with poor health and education. Luckily, policies are now addressing that, and change is slowly coming. The Pacifica Festival in March is the region's biggest cultural event, attracting thousands to Western Springs. The annual Pacific Island Secondary Schools’ Competition, also in March, sees young Pacific Islander and Asian students compete in traditional dance, drumming, and singing. This event is open to the public. At the geographical center of Auckland city is the 1,082-foot Sky Tower, a convenient landmark for those exploring on foot and some say a visible sign of the city's naked aspiration. It has earned nicknames like the Needle and the Big Penis—a counterpoint to a poem by acclaimed New Zealand poet James K. Baxter, which refers to Rangitoto Island as a clitoris in the harbor. The Waitemata Harbour has become better known since New Zealand staged its first defense of the America's Cup in 2000 and the successful Louis Vuitton Pacific Series in early 2009. The first regatta saw major redevelopment of the waterfront. The area, where many of the city's most popular bars, cafés, and restaurants are located, is now known as Viaduct Basin or, more commonly, the Viaduct. A recent expansion has created another area, Wynyard Quarter, which is slowly adding restaurants. These days, Auckland is still considered too bold and brash for its own good by many Kiwis who live "south of the Bombay Hills," the geographical divide between Auckland and the rest of New Zealand (barring Northland). "Jafa," an acronym for "just another f—ing Aucklander," has entered the local lexicon; there's even a book out called Way of the Jafa: A Guide to Surviving Auckland and Aucklanders. A common complaint is that Auckland absorbs the wealth from the hard work of the rest of the country. Most Aucklanders, on the other hand, still try to shrug and see it as the parochial envy of those who live in small towns. But these internal identity squabbles aren't your problem. You can enjoy a well-made coffee in almost any café, or take a walk on a beach—knowing that within 30 minutes' driving time you could be cruising the spectacular harbor, playing a round at a public golf course, or even walking in subtropical forest while listening to the song of a native tûî bird.

To complement the stunning decor, Red Ginger’s chefs have created contemporary interpretations of Asian classics. Begin with a salad of spicy roast duck and watermelon with cashews, mint and Thai basil. Savor a Malaysian beef penaeng with coconut rice and paratha roti. Or try Thai vegetable curry with sweet potatoes, aubergine, mushrooms and basil in green curry sauce. In Red Ginger, the gustatory pleasures are as striking as the visual ones.

Open for dinner only. Reservations required.

  • Polo Grill:

    A CLASSIC STEAKHOUSE

Polo Grill embodies all the elements of a classic steakhouse, expressing them with timeless reverence. Mindful of tradition, the decor features crisp, white linen tablecloths, dark wood furnishings and supple, high-back, burgundy leather chairs. Each course stands as the very definition of time-honoured favourites, most notably the beef dishes, all of which are certified Black Angus USDA Prime and dry aged to enhance tenderness and flavour. Succulent seafood dishes such as grilled swordfish and whole Maine lobster gratinée are also classics in their own right. The classic Caesar salad, too, is prepared according to tradition, table-side and with gusto.

Open for dinner only. Reservations required.

  • Toscana:

    AUTHENTIC ITALIAN

Toscana means Tuscan, and just as Tuscan cuisine evolved from rich family traditions, many of our recipes originated with the mothers and grandmothers of our own Italian culinary staff. Presented on elegant, custom-designed Versace china, masterfully prepared dishes exemplify the essence of Tuscany and celebrate Italy’s culinary passion. Perhaps the evening begins with the octopus carpaccio with Champagne vinaigrette or the artichoke and parmesan cheese timbale with black truffle sauce. Classic dishes from other regions of Northern Italy are featured as well, such as the minestrone alla Genovese, lasagna alforno alla Bolognese and osso buco alla Milanese.

Open for dinner only. Reservations required.

  • Terrace Café:

    INFORMAL DINING

Informal and carefree, the Terrace Café is wonderfully inviting any time of day. Come lunch, the expansive menu of international-inspired dishes changes entirely, complemented by a flavorful roast and the magic of the pizzeria’s oven. Dine inside or alfresco at one of the shaded teak tables on the terrace. During the evenings, the cuisine takes on a more sophisticated flair, with lobster tails, chops and fresh fish prepared to order, and freshly made hand-cut sushi and sashimi. In addition, a diverse selection of bold and flavorful plant-based dishes is available.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No reservations required.

  • Waves Grill:

    ALFRESCO DINING

Sometimes, the ultimate luxury is casual dining on all-American favorites, a laid-back style Waves Grill epitomizes. Located in a spacious, shaded area steps from the swimming pool, Waves Grill offers an extensive and mouthwatering menu. Then try a decadent dessert such as a homemade passion fruit sorbet, a made-to-order hot fudge sundae, a hand-dipped milkshake or one of the new, whimsical ice cream flavors by Humphry Slocombe, such as Secret Breakfast, Elvis (the Fat Years) or our signature flavor, Regatta Royale.

    The Pizzeria at Waves Grill

Visit Waves Grill in the evening to experience an atmospheric Neapolitan trattoria with a warm pizza oven at the epicenter. Pair savory antipasti, creamy burrata selections or spicy chicken wings with a crisp glass of sauvignon blanc or refreshing rosé. Hand-tossed pizzas feature delectable toppings ranging from smoky roasted bell peppers and earthy truffle oil to fiery chorizo and tart lemon chicken. The irresistible aromas will draw you in and the flavorful creations will make you want to linger over dinner just as they do in Italy.

  • La Reserve by Wine Spectator:

    EPICUREANS & WINE CONNOISSEURS

The most inspired achievements are born of legendary partnerships, and at Oceania Cruises we are proud of our brilliant union with Wine Spectator, the foremost magazine for wine connoisseurs, and our exceptional relationship with France’s premier Champagne house, Moët & Chandon. Along with these illustrious partners, we are pleased to present a variety of differing but equally extraordinary pairing dinners. Developed with Moët & Chandon’s Executive Chef Marco Fadiga, the six-course Dom Pérignon Experience is a spirited Champagne pairing dinner blending playful Dom Pérignon vintages and refreshing gastronomic surprises such as Sakura Tea “Geisha Flower” Ice Cream and Lemon Caviar. The seven-course La Cuisine Bourgeoise wine pairing dinner celebrates the rituals of the table and links masterfully curated wine selections with dishes such as Filet de Boeuf Rôti Richelieu, one of many recipes Oceania Cruises’ Master Chef and Executive Culinary Director Jacques Pépin has enjoyed since his childhood. Coupled with wine seminars and vintage tastings, La Reserve by Wine Spectator is an unabashedly glorious celebration of the pleasures of the palate.

    THE DOM PÉRIGNON EXPERIENCE

Champagne defines the most jubilant moments of our lives and in a magnificent stroke of brilliance, we have partnered with France’s esteemed Moët & Chandon to create the Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, an exuberant six-course gustatory indulgence that pairs each course with a special Dom Pérignon vintage. Champagne is effortlessly matched with dishes which are thoughtfully crafted to bring out the nuances of the grapes and the ratio of the blend, playing off every aspect from subtle, effervescent nose to lively, satisfying finish. From Brittany Blue Lobster in Yellow Curry Broth with Coco Foam to Sashimi-Style Seared Wagyu Beef with Sautéed Arugula, Blood Orange-Soya Jus and Caviar Perlita, each beguiling bite is a celebration of the finer things in life. While the Dom Pérignon Experience is the perfect complement to any joyous occasion, it transcends even this lofty role. In true French spirit, it becomes the culinary manifestation of joie de vivre.

Open for dinner only. Reservations required. Wine or Champagne experience surcharge applies.

  • Medical Facilities:

Each ship is equipped with limited medical facilities and staffed by international medical personnel. Customary Emergency Room fees and charges do apply for medical services and are dictated by the services performed by the ship's medical staff.

Our doctors are international and meet American College of Emergency Physicians and ICCL (International Council of Cruise Lines) guidelines, including: current physician licensure, three years of post-graduate / post-registration clinical practice in general and emergency medicine or Board certification in: emergency medicine, family practice or internal medicine or competent skill level in advanced life support and cardiac care.

Guests must coordinate having their prescription drugs shipped at their own expense and responsibility to port agents throughout their cruise.  These arrangements need to be made prior to their departure directly with our Special Services department.

Upon request, Port Agent information will be made available to the guests and travel partners closer to the cruise date through the Special Services department.

Oceania Cruises has established contacts throughout the world with several different emergency rooms/hospitals where on board doctors can refer patients for medical care.

Having medical equipment brought on board is handled on a case by case basis. Oceania Cruises must receive the full dimensions, description of the equipment, name of the delivery company, and all other pertinent information.

  • Adults-Only Policy:

WHAT IS OCEANIA CRUISES’ NEW ADULTS-ONLY POLICY?

Beginning 7 January 2026, Oceania Cruises will now exclusively welcome guests 18 years of age and older at the time of embarkation on all new reservations. This policy ensures that every voyage delivers the serene, sophisticated and adultfocused experience our guests value most.

WHY IS OCEANIA CRUISES MAKING THIS CHANGE?

This decision is based on extensive guest feedback. Our travellers consistently tell us that they choose Oceania Cruises for itscalm, tranquil atmosphere and the company of like-minded adults. Moving to an adults-only environment allows us to focus on what our guests appreciate most—refined service, cultural enrichment and unhurried exploration.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT EXISTING BOOKINGS WITH CHILDREN?

All existing bookings that include guests under the age of 18 years which were made prior to 7 January 2026 will be honoured in full. There is no impact to these reservations. The policy will only apply to new bookings made on or after 7 January 2026.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I WANT TO BOOK A FUTURE CRUISE WITH CHILDREN?

While Oceania Cruises will focus exclusively on adult guests, our sister brands — Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas Cruises — offer exceptional voyages designed for families and multi-generational travellers. Your travel advisor, Norwegian Cruise Line or Regent Seven Seas Cruises representative can assist with rebooking options or recommendations.

WHY IS THIS POLICY SPECIFIC TO OCEANIA CRUISES AND NOT TO THE OTHER BRANDS IN THE NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE HOLDINGS LTD. FAMILY?

Each brand within the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. family serves a distinct audience. Oceania Cruises’ ships and experiences are crafted for adult travellers seeking tranquility, cultural immersion and relaxed sophistication.

HOW WILL OCEANIA CRUISES VERIFY THE AGE OF GUESTS?

A valid date of birth will be required at the time of booking for all guests. Proof of age with valid passport will be requestedprior to embarkation.

WHAT IF MY TRAVEL PARTY INCLUDES SOMEONE WHO WILL TURN 18 BEFORE SAILING?

Guests who are 18 years of age or older at the time of embarkation are eligible to sail. Reservations may be made as long as the guest will meet that age requirement by the embarkation date of the voyage.

WILL THERE BE ANY CHANGES TO ONBOARD PROGRAMMES OR AMENITIES?

No. Oceania Cruises’ ships are already designed for adult travellers. This policy simply formalises what our guests already experience — refined service, culinary excellence and immersive itineraries without youth programming or facilities.

DOES THIS CHANGE APPLY TO FULL-SHIP CHARTERS OR GROUP BOOKINGS?

The Adults-Only policy applies to all standard Oceania Cruises sailings. Exceptions for private full-ship charters may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis with executive approval.

HOW WILL OCEANIA COMMUNICATE THIS CHANGE TO GUESTS?

The new policy will be reflected in our Terms & Conditions, Guest Ticket Contract, website copy and booking confirmations. Guests will also see reminders at the time of reservation, on invoices and in pre-cruise communications.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT MY BOOKING?

Guests can contact Oceania Cruises’ Guest Services or their travel advisor for assistance. Our teams are prepared to answer questions, update records and provide support for any rebooking needs.

  • Disabled Facilities:

Guests with any medical condition(s) or special needs that may require treatment or attention or accommodation during the voyage, or needing to travel with medical apparatus, including wheelchairs, motorised scooters, oxygen therapy, etc., must advise Oceania Cruises in writing at the time of deposit. Please note some ports of call may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility and in such cases, may disallow debarkation with a wheelchair or motorised scooter or for any individual with limited mobility. Oceania Cruises is unable to accommodate women past their sixth month of pregnancy. Oceania Cruises has the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who, in its judgment, is in a physical, mental or emotional condition unfit for travel or whose comfort onboard may be compromised due to situations beyond the care that can be provided by Oceania Cruises. Oceania Cruises will under appropriate circumstances permit its guests to use special equipment such as those noted above, which satisfy the criteria stated in the Oceania Cruises' Policy Statement.
